After a brief stint ordering salads from Pockets three times a week and picking up turkey meatloaf from Plum Market the other four, I am officially back to my trendy, foodie lifestyle filled with white gloves and VIP service.

Fake it til you make it.

I love a Friday night dinner date and Tanta was the perfect spot for one. Being seated at the ceviche bar made me immediately take notice to the chalkboard sign behind the chefs, advertising a soon-to-be-open rooftop bar. Somehow the word rooftop has the ability to accelerate my mood from decent to amazing in a matter of seconds.

The standout of the meal was the chaufa aeropuerto, however, everything was exceptional and I already made my second reservation for next month.

The delightful Pisco Sour- Barsol Quebranta pisco (the liquor), egg white, lime, sugar, Amargo Chunco bitters

Delicious plantain chips and dipping sauce

The Street Food Feast: anticuchos (octopus skewer with chimichurri, fried garlic and olive sauce), chicken empanadas, potato huancaina (Peruvian potato salad) and pan con chicharron (pork belly sliders)

Clasica Causita- whipped Peruvian potatoes with crab, avocado, tomato and egg

Chafa Aeropuerto- pork fried rice, shrimp tortilla, spicy garlic
