After nine years of living in Chicago, I am always amazed to find out about places that I never knew existed. This is especially true when I have walked by countless times without notice of them. The Silversmith Hotel is located in the heart of the Loop, and the building has been in Chicago since the 1800s. Only a few years more than me. When I received an email to check out the newly renovated spot and its new restaurant, Adamus, I was eager to check it out. I was even more excited when I learned that my invitation was with a plus one, and so was my friend Jordyn when I invited her. We were greeted by a friendly slew of people who gave us the royal treatment all night. At this point, I am used to being treated like a celebrity, and I am always impressed with my ability to stay grounded.
The event was intimate and fun. A party of all girls, the night was filled with great conversation, cocktails, and phenomenal food.
After dinner the executive chef, Nelson Erazo, introduced himself and was curious which dishes were our favorites. Almost everyone had a different answer; a sign that we were all in agreement that the dinner was delectable.
By the end of the night, we were laughing like old friends. My stomach was full, my phone was filled with new phone numbers and my mind was making a mental note to plan my next dinner at Adamus.
